The City of Dayton typically has several road construction and repair projects occurring at any given time.  Below are the existing or upcoming road repair/construction projects requiring potential closings and detours during this construction season. Please make a note of these projects as you travel throughout the community.

2010 Asphalt Resurfacing Residential Streets Citywide
This project consists of resurfacing residential streets and alleys in CDBG-eligible areas citywide. Construction is expected to begin in May of 2010, with completion in August of 2010.

Tech Town Improvements, Phase III
This project consists of the installation of a parking lot and utilities in Tech Town. Construction is expected to begin in June of 2010, with completion in October of 2010.

Downtown Gateway Project
This project consists of the repair of defective sidewalk, curb, driveway approaches, and curb ramps; asphalt resurfacing; and installation of gateway features in the Central Business District. Construction is expected to begin in May of 2010, with completion in November of 2010.

Wayne/Wyoming Intersection Improvement
This project consists of widening Wayne Avenue from Anderson Street to Wilmington Avenue and Wilmington Avenue from Wayne Avenue to Beckman Street. Construction is expected to begin in May of 2010, with completion in July of 2011.

Pheasant Ridge Improvements
This project consists of infrastructure improvements in Sections 10 and 11 of the Villages of Pheasant Ridge Development. Construction is expected to begin in May of 2010, with completion in July of 2010.

Old North Dayton Transportation Enhancements
This project consists of infrastructure improvements, including lighting, landscaping, and concrete crosswalks on Valley Street between Keowee Street and State Route 4, and on Herman Avenue between Troy Street and Valley Street. Construction is expected to begin in May of 2010, with completion in August of 2010.

Brown Street Enhancements
This project consists of the installation of trash receptacles, benches, banners, landscaping, and other amenities on Brown Street between Apple Street and Irving Avenue. Construction is expected to begin in April of 2010, with completion in July of 2010.

North Main Street Widening
This project consists of widening North Main Street from four to five lanes at Helena Street and at Fairview Avenue. Construction is expected to begin in April of 2010, with completion in September of 2011.

  Bridge Street Bridge Replacement
This project consists of the replacement of the Bridge Street Bridge over Wolf Creek with a new bridge in an alignment that will extend Philadelphia Drive to James H. McGee Boulevard. Construction is expected to begin in January of 2010, with completion in April of 2011.

James H. McGee Rehabilitation
This project consists of concrete pavement rehabilitation and asphalt resurfacing on James H. McGee Boulevard from U.S. Route 35 to Kammer Avenue. Construction is expected to begin in March of 2010, with completion in July of 2010.

Oregon District Improvements
This project consists of performing sidewalk and crosswalk improvements on East Fifth Street between Wyandot Street and Bainbridge Street. Construction begins in November 2009, with completion scheduled for May 2010.

Wright Dunbar Transportation Enhancements, Phase II
This project consists of the replacement of sidewalks and the installation of curb bumpouts and street amenities on West Third Street between Shannon Street and Broadway Street.  Construction begins in November 2009, with completion expected in May 2010.

Wyoming Street Sanitary Sewer Upgrade
This project consists of replacing sanitary sewer pipe on Wyoming Street between Miami Valley Hospital and Brown Street. Construction is sheduled for October to December 2009.

Central Business District Street Conversion
This project consists of infrastructure improvements to convert portions of Monument Avenue, Second Street, Fourth Street, Jefferson Street, and Patterson Boulevard from one-way to two-way operation.  Construction began in June 2009, with completion scheduled for June 2010. Click here for more information and a map of the downtown street conversions.
