Economic Development
The City of Dayton > Departments > Economic Development

Economic Development takes a proactive approach to attract businesses to Dayton and keep them here. By targeting growth industries including existing businesses, we bring new companies to the city and help existing businesses grow.

By developing long-term business relationships, we continually maximize opportunities for economic development and growth. In 2006, Economic Development staff met with the owners of 290 businesses to assess their growth needs. As a result, we leveraged $126 million in business investment through 25 development projects.

The Office of Economic Development also offers the following services to Dayton’s business community:

  • Coordination with financial partners for low-interest loans
  • Site selection assistance
  • Business incentives
  • Land acquisition
  • Assistance to business owners in the plan review process
  • Assessment and remediation of brownfields into "shovel ready" sites
