Welcome to Dayton: We Mean Business.
The Office of Economic Development takes a proactive approach to attract businesses to Dayton and keep them here. By targeting growth industries, including existing businesses, we bring new companies to the city and help existing businesses grow.
By developing long-term business relationships, we continually maximize opportunities for economic development and growth. In 2008, Economic Development staff met with hundreds of businesses to assess their growth needs. As a result, we leveraged $25 million in business investment, and helped to retain more than 1,100 jobs and create 816 new jobs.
Dayton was named the #1 mid-size region for new corporate facility projects for the second consecutive year by Site Selection Magazine, and is the official Ohio Aerospace Hub.
The Office of Economic Development offers the following services to Dayton's business community:
- Site selection assistance for new or expanding businesses,
- Assistance with permits and the plan review process,
- Coordination with financial partners for low-interest loans,
- Business development incentives for business growth,
- Referrals to regional resource partners for free or low-cost services,
- Real estate development and site assembly assistance,
- Creation of "shovel ready" sites like Tech Town through brownfield redevelopment,
- Annexations of commercial property for enhanced City services,
- ....and many more!
We also operate the Dayton Business Resource Center (DBRC), a one-stop shop for small business assistance, as part of the regional BusinessFirst! program. For business success stories and the latest tools for your company, sign up for Dayton's digital BizBites Newsletters.
