Investigations & Administrative Services

Major Chris Williams is the commander of Investigations & Administrative Services.  Williams graduated from the Dayton Police Academy in May 1992. He worked uniform patrol in the Second District from 1992-1999 and served in the Narcotics Unit between 1999-2001. 


He was promoted to Sergeant in June 2001 and served in uniform as a supervisor in Fifth District from 2001-2004 before transferring to the Detective Section as a Squad Supervisor from 2004-2008.  Williams advanced to Lieutenant where he served as a Field Commander until placed as the Commander of 2nd District from 2008-2010. From 2010-2012, he served as the Commander of East Patrol Operations Division until his promotion to Major in July of 2012.

Major Williams is a former member of the Dayton Police Bomb Squad and in 1995 was selected as “Police Officer of the Year” and earned the “Medal of Valor” in 1998.


He graduated from Wright State University in 2010 and is a graduate of the Police Executive Leadership College, Certified Law Enforcement Executive (CLEE) program, and the FBI National Academy.
